Studying from home can be every bit as productive as classroom learning, if you are organised and dedicated. We already know you are organised and dedicated, after all, you’re a student of h&h Accredited Training!

When Studying From Home,Treat Every Day As Though It Was A Classroom Day

Studying from home can come with a lot of temptation (chocolate, anyone?). One is to stay in your pyjamas all day. We get it – it’s comfortable and relaxing. However, it can also lead to lack or productivity. Every morning, get up, have breakfast, shower and put on a nice outfit, just as you would if you were coming to college for classroom studies.

Have a Dedicated Study Space

Even if you don’t have a spare room you can turn into your ‘office’, try to clear a corner in the living room, or your bedroom, that is a dedicated study space. It gives you somewhere to go where you can ‘switch on’ your study brain and ‘switch off’ your relaxation brain. We promise you, it truly helps.

Stay Organised

Keep your different subjects in individual folders, or even colour code them. Keep you desk free from clutter, wth only the essentials you need to complete the task at hand nearby. Write a ‘to-do’ list each morning and try to stick to it.

Take Regular Breaks

It’s easy to fall into the trap of non-stop work when you’re studying from home. This isn’t healthy for either your mind or your body. Every hour or so, or when you’ve completed a certain task, reward yourself by getting up, stretching out your arms and legs and going to breathe in some fresh air. Perhaps even lay out on your lawn and soak up the goodness of the earth, the sun and the gentle breeze (weather permitting).

Avoid Social Media Unless Totally Necessary

It’s easy to get sucked into a vortex of Social Media when you’re at home with no trainer or fellow students to keep you focused. Make a dedicated time at the end of the day to check your personal Social Media accounts. Only reach for them outside that time if you need to urgently contact h&h Facebook page for support or guidance.
