Under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015, each RTO offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to individual learners—unless the requirements of the training package or licensing requirements prevent this.
h&h offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) to all students for each of our qualifications if eligible.
Please connect with us to request a copy of the RPL/CT Application Form should this apply to you.
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that assesses a person’s skills gained from formal, non-formal, and informal learning to see how well they meet the requirements of training packages or VET courses.
Formal learning happens in structured programs that lead to an AQF qualification, such as a certificate or degree.
Non-formal learning occurs in structured programs that don’t result in an AQF qualification, such as in-house training at a company.
Informal learning comes from everyday experiences, for example skills learned through work, social interactions, or hobbies, such as developing interpersonal skills as a sales representative.
Credit Transfer (CT)
Credit transfer is recognition that you have previously completed a unit of your course through VET or higher education.
To receive a credit transfer for a unit you must provide formal evidence that you have previously completed the unit or a unit which matches in content and outcome. Formal evidence can be a qualification certificate or transcript, statement of attainment or your USI transcript. When credit is recognised, you don’t need to repeat training or assessment for that unit.
